The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) is continuing work on an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the I-90 corridor between Exit 40 and Exit 50.
Please read about the general scope of this project on the Study Area page. The preferred alternative alignments for the north and south service roads appear on the Alternatives page. Public comments received at the two public meetings are summarized on the Public Meetings page.
The project schedule has been delayed due to additional time required to coordinate appropriate service road alignments with the State Historic Preservation Office and affected landowners. Also, SDDOT’s project schedule for the service road on the north side of I-90 between Exits 44 and 46 has been delayed until 2011 due to sharp increases in construction costs. Consequently, the 30-day public comment period for the Draft EA document is tentatively scheduled to begin in February 2008. The date of availability of the document for review and the date of the public meeting will be announced in this website and in the third and final project newsletter in February 2008.
